Mortal Kombat 11 is already being fine-combed by data miners out there after becoming available for pre-load just a few days ago.
According to a post on Reddit last night, the Nintendo Switch version has files that confirm nearly all of the upcoming downloadable characters. These include four guest characters and five returning characters.
However, before jumping with excitement, understand that game files can sometimes be placeholders or indicators of other products such as skins. They can always be taken out or updated with a new name by the developer. Hence, the following characters should be taken with a grain of salt. That being said, some of them do look like the real deal.
DLC Guest Characters
- Ash Williams
DLC Returning Characters
- Shang Tsung
Ash Williams from The Evil Dead franchise has been a highly wished guest character for Mortal Kombat 11. Spawn was actually being teased last year by Todd McFarlane himself, the creator of the comic book character. Terminator, interestingly, was somewhat hinted during a leak earlier this year. Joker is the sore thumb of this lot. The last time the clown prince made an appearance was in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe more than a decade ago. However, the license demanded NetherRealm Studios to dial down the gore and violence — there were no actual Fatalities. If the Joker really is coming to Mortal Kombat 11, this will be the first time that we get to see his villainous nature in the Mortal Kombat universe.
Fujin is another character who was mentioned in several leaks in the past. Nightwolf and Sindel were actually being highly requested for the starting roster. Sheeva was already shown fighting alongside Kitana in the launch trailer and Shang Tsung has already been officially announced as the first post-release downloadable character.
Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on April 23, 2019. If you pre-order right now, you will unlock Shao Kahn from day-one.
