Frost officially wraps up the character reveals for Mortal Kombat 11 as the last remaining inclusion to the playable roster. Her announcement comes as unsurprising because she was already mentioned in numerous leaks in the past months, and confirmed on-hand when the street date was broken last week in some territories for consoles.
Frost made her first appearance in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance as a member of the Lin Kuei and an apprentice of Sub-Zero. After the clan made peace with the Shirai Ryu, the clan of Scorpion, Frost challenged her own grandmaster as unfit to lead. She was defeated by Sub-Zero and then banished. She later appeared in both Mortal Kombat: Unchained and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Frost has been seeking power ever since to get back at the Lin Kuei and the hostile path has led her to become a cyborg ninja in Mortal Kombat 11.
However, a moment of clarification. Frost is unlike Cyrax and Sektor. Her cyborg technology has been provided by Kronika herself, as revealed by NetherRealm Studios, which makes her far more dangerous. It’s also why Frost is one of Kronika’s guardians and will go to any lengths to ensure that her new master is successful in rewriting history.
There’s a lot that Frost can do now. For starters, she can turn her arms into frosty blades and spin her torso to become a living grinder. She has a strong anti-air with exploding ice bombs and can also propel her head above away from her body for a nasty headbutt. Take note that Frost can also throw her own head around as bombs. More impressively, she has a full-screen ice beam that can only be blocked, not dodged.
Frost is a hidden character in Mortal Kombat 11 and can only be unlocked by progressing through the story campaign. She is the last character to be revealed by NetherRealm Studios, which means that the final roster is now locked in. You can check out the complete character roster here.
Recently, data miners were able to unearth information from the Nintendo Switch version regarding the upcoming Kombat Packs. If the leaks are to be believed, Mortal Kombat 11 will be reciving four guest characters down the road. These include Ash Williams, the Joker, Spawn, and the Terminator.
